PRODUCTION PLANNING AND CONTROL

Production Planning and Control

Production planning and control is a prearrange development which involves the use of human
wealth, natural resources, automobiles, etc. PPC is the approach to design each and every action
in a long series of the unique mission.

Steps in Production Planning and Control:
They are four steps in Production Planning and Control are:
    1.Routing
    2.Scheduling
    3.Despatching
    4.Follow-up

Beginning the first two steps routing and scheduling are related to production planning. Last two
steps Dispatching and Follow-up are related to production control.

1.Routing
Routing is the first step in production planning process Routing can be defined as the method of
determining the route of work and order of missions.
Routing may be either very smooth or complicated. This depends on their production values.
In an endless construction, it is automated, it is smooth. Nevertheless, the work sequence is very
complicated.

2.Scheduling
Scheduling is the second step in the production process. It comes after routing.
Scheduling means to:
    1. Repair the total of work to do.
    2. Organize the various manufacturing activities in the priority order.
    3. Adjust the start and end, time and date for each operation.
Scheduling is also planned for materials, parts, machines, etc. so it looks like a production
table. It resembles the timetable prepared by the railways.

3.Dispatching
Dispatching is the third step in the production process. It is an activity, doing exercise stage.
It comes after Routing and Scheduling.
Dispatching means beginning the process of production. It gives the crucial power to start work.
It is based on the route sheet and schedule sheet. In Production Planning and Process Dispatching
steps in problems are directly solved by consolidating management.

4.Follow-up
Follow-up is the last step in the production planning process. It is a control device.it cares about
evaluating the results.
Follow-up is discovered and discard the disadvantage, error, alternative, lag, etc in the production
process. It calculates a certain accomplishment and it correlated to normal activities. It manages
the proceedings of job, lag, error. Such record is used in the future for control production.

These are the steps of Production Planning and Control.
